About Canterbury Palestine Awareness Society

Welcome!

The Palestine Society aims to raise awareness, understanding, and unity on campus. We plan to organize events, discussions, and workshops to shed light on the historical, cultural, and political facets of Palestine. Our aim is to create a supportive community for those interested in or affected by the Palestinian cause, and we'll collaborate with other student groups to build a sense of solidarity across campus.

Through cultural exchanges like art exhibitions and film screenings, we want to celebrate Palestinian culture and provide a platform for Palestinian students to share their experiences with the wider university community. In addition, we'll engage in peaceful advocacy initiatives to raise awareness about the challenges faced by the Palestinian people and collaborate with relevant organizations to promote justice, human rights, and peaceful resolutions to conflicts in the region.

The society will also encourage open and respectful dialogue, creating an environment where students feel comfortable discussing complex and sensitive issues related to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. We wish to build a more informed and compassionate campus community.
