Parliament has just passed the first reading of a new Bill which will make it illegal to advertise long-term unpaid internships. It is still two steps away from being made into law, but is a step forward to ending the practise of exploiting experience-hungry talent.
The University have said they are “committed to managing the process in such a way as to maintain and develop the student experience and minimise the impact on all students”. We intend to ensure they honour this commitment.
On Thursday 4th April the Luke Frost (Maidstone Campus Officer) submitted his notice of resignation and will be leaving us earlier than the original departure date of July 1st.
