Course reps are the highest number of elected representatives in the Students' Union structure.
Two reps, per course, per year… that’s 200+ representatives!
Course Reps are responsible for voicing the functional issues students may have with a course…maybe equipment is not right, maybe the tutor is late occasionally or maybe the chairs just aren’t comfortable!
Whatever the issue may be it is the role of the course reps to be the voice of the students and tell the people that need to know in an effort to get change that results in better learning and a better course experience.
Course reps are democratically elected through the Union voting system which for the first time this year is going to be online.
Anyone can stand to be a course rep (as long as you are doing the course!)and the successful candidates will receive full training from the Union to ensure they do the best job they can.
Elected course reps have a big role to play in the Union as they are often the first to hear of issues affecting student’s studies. The Student Council and Campus Officers are there to support with ongoing issues that may come up and as a united body will hopefully make things right!
